Selections
BMC BMC 2024-02-08 - 15:26 UTC
Replacing maintain current spacing before and after string.
BMC BMC 2024-02-08 - 15:28 UTC
deleting remove spacing before or after.

HelloworldHi.
BMC BMC 2024-02-08 - 15:49 UTC
If deleting in front, remove to following word. if deleting in back remove to end of last word.
BMC BMC 2024-02-08 - 15:50 UTC
in middle, delete one space before or after.

Level Adjustment
BMC BMC 2024-02-01 - 17:52 UTC
Level adjust on Insert STRUCTURE in Augment worked thusly after selecting statement it is to follow
BMC BMC 2024-02-01 - 17:52 UTC
SOURCE: Augment Quick Reference Card p.4 "LEVADJ" states:
BMC BMC 2024-02-01 - 17:52 UTC
"Type level-adjust characters (u for up, d for down), ending with or , or type or for same level"
BMC BMC 2024-02-01 - 17:52 UTC
Note noise words preceding L: prompt "(level adjust) L:" -- per updated Augment Commands Syntax file section on Editing STRUCTUREs
BMC BMC 2024-02-01 - 17:52 UTC
For "u" user can include one or more u's for each level up to shift the new statement
BMC BMC 2024-02-01 - 17:52 UTC
Command window replaces "L:" with "d! M/T:" or "u! M/T:" or "uu! M/T: or "! M/T:" for Same
BMC BMC 2024-02-01 - 17:52 UTC
NOTE: I always thought it would be WAY better for the user to see more reassuring feedback in the command window like "(level adjust) Down (a level) M/T:" or "Up ({n} levels) M/T:" or "Same (level) M/T:"

Links
BMC BMC 2024-02-01 - 17:51 UTC
Link commands -- CE Note: I have not come across Link editing in any of the demos yet, or user documentation, so i'm working from memory here:
BMC BMC 2024-02-01 - 17:51 UTC
[X] Insert Link and Replace Link should check that user's input for the new link is properly encased in angle brackets or parens -- if user did not supply, add them in -- the idea being they can typein same as for Jump Link command [FIXED: as of 19-Jan-2024 ]
BMC BMC 2024-02-01 - 17:51 UTC
Copy Link is to follow a WORD not a LINK -- currently it only copies the link if you have it follow a link
BMC BMC 2024-02-01 - 17:51 UTC
Move Link is deleting instead of moving the link, which like Copy Link hsould follow a word not a link
BMC BMC 2024-02-01 - 17:51 UTC
Note: Augment never implemented Create Link command! So Dad created one using command sequence app, something like this
BMC BMC 2024-02-01 - 17:51 UTC
Create Link (to) C: STRING (at) M/A !! (to follow word at) M/A: ! OK:
BMC BMC 2024-02-01 - 17:51 UTC
So for example if user chooses the Phrase "Controlling the Tools" in oad,2250, here's what gets inserted (note if it's a journal doc it uses the statement number, for non-journal files it uses the SID): "Controlling the Tools"
BMC BMC 2024-02-01 - 17:51 UTC
Create Link (to) C: Statement (at) M/A ! (to follow word at) M/A:
BMC BMC 2024-02-01 - 17:51 UTC
So for example if user selects the Statement "SANDBOX" below in this file, here's what gets inserted: < bmc,bug-reports, 08 :wgym>

Syntax
BMC BMC 2024-02-09 - 16:52 UTC
Clean up command syntax where required -- e.g. Copy Phrase vs Copy Plex
BMC BMC 2024-02-09 - 16:52 UTC
Primacy goes to which was more commonly in use at the time it was implemented -- for now let's keep the same primacy as Augment so user doc keeps working; Secondary objects require
BMC BMC 2024-02-09 - 16:52 UTC
As a general rule, those requiring also require or permit a set number of letters to recognize command word -- for VERBS it's two letters and for NOUNS be one letter
BMC BMC 2024-02-09 - 16:52 UTC
Having a rule of thumb is supports user speed and efficiency -- they only need to memorize which command word needs a and verb vs. noun dictates if it needs one or two letters. On the other hand having to stop and peck through a command to learn how many letters it takes to recognition is an unnecessary speed bump -- I think the only exception would be Reset which requires RES
